The rates for translation are usually based on the amount of words the source text counts. The standard rate for a translation from English or French into Dutch is 0.08 euro per source word. For texts with more technical or specialised terminology, the rate is 0.09 euro per source word. Also for urgent translations (at night or during the weekend) an extra 0.01 per source word will be charged.
For the translation of large volumes which are not delivered electronically (e-mail, CD, ...), a source word count could be an extremely time-consuming activity. In these cases, an hourly rate of 25 to 30 euro instead of a source word rate will be applied, depending on the degree of difficulty of the source text and the urgency of the translation.

The standard rate for the
proofreading of a Dutch text is 0.03 euro per word. For an urgent proofreading or texts with technical language, a rate of 0.04 euro per word will be applied. Furthermore, the same method for translation rates will be applicable if a word count of the source text seems to be unpractical: an hourly rate of 20 to 25 euro will be charged.

All mentioned prices are VAT exclusive (21%). Do not hesitate to contact me if you want a free quote for your text or project that needs to be translated or proofread.

“Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say infinitely when you mean very; otherwise you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite.”
